IPL uses intense pulsed light, a broadband light that does not treat at specific depths and can react with everyone’s skin differently, often resulting in unwanted burns if used incorrectly. Unlike the non heating effect of the photoacoustic Q switched laser, IPL creates widespread heat within so many different levels, as it’s not targeting the required area directly. Simply put, results with IPL can be O.K, inconsistant, or downright damaging.
Q switch is a direct targeted treatment depending on the choice of wavelength required. Its photoacoustic effect is safer and requires fewer treatments to achieve superior results.
